Well I set 16 EE Eggs tonight . I have had pretty good luck with hatching so far . These are from a solid white Americauna roo and a variety of colors of hens. So far the last 3 hatches from this roo have produced alot of white chicks. I think in the last 2 hatches I have gotten more solid white then color chicks. They are so darn cute too and look like a real easter chick with all that yellow down and such big muffs and beards on day olds too. Looks like we will have lots of chicks popping around the 6th . My hatches from these EE's always seem to start late on day 19 and finish on day 20.

I set 7 peafowl eggs - 5 are due 8/7 and 2 should hatch 8/12. I'm hoping to get at least 3 live chicks from these. They are India Blues.
28 days is soooo long to wait. I'll do my first candling on Monday, but the shells are so thick that I usually don't see anything until about halfway-through.
Good Luck with your hatches!

I hope it didn't make a mess!
I just set 2 more peafowl eggs tonight... they're surprise eggs. Maybe white peafowl, or pied! One was cracked, but not leaking... just a hairline crack. I'm going to try the wax method & set it anyway.

No, it did not make a mess, but the shell stuck to the plastic tray and I had to break the egg to "get it out" but the bottom of the egg stayed in the plastic tray.

I asked and I was advised to soak the tray in warm water. I can't do that until they hatch in 16 days.

I set a bunch of eggs all due from the 6th on. (Staggered hatch) I just candled a bunch of them and so far of the tinted eggs I only found two clears - neither of which surprised me. One was a itty bitty pullet egg and the other was from one of my silkies who has never been fertile.

Can't see in the green eggs at all and some of the brown eggs.

Here's hoping for everyone to have a good hatch!
