*Set eggs Tonight (Nov. 23rd) Any one due around Dec. 14th??*

I just went into lockdown!!! My temp is great, my humidity is hovering around 70-72 and everything is all set! And since I am doing a staggered hatch, I successfully rigged a plastic potting piece, shaped much like an egg carton, used for seedling, and used a wire to tip it one way and then the other. The wire is coming through one of the vent holes so no opening of the bator. I tested it and it works perfecty!!!! All is going well in batorland today....

Just noticed this thread! I've got 19 (out of 24 shipped) silkie eggs incubating from Cat Dance silkies. I have had excellent results with these eggs so far. This is only my second batch of shipped eggs and it's already going much better than my last batch of shipped eggs (4 hatch of 24 eggs). I set them on Thanksgiving morning and go into lockdown on Sunday with an expected Wednesday hatch. These eggs were looking so good that I ordered another batch from her and they were set a week ago yesterday. Those are due around the 23rd. I candled those yesterday and all were developing. She ships so carefully and the eggs are so well packaged- and her breeders are so beautiful- I can't wait!

This is SO exciting and FUN! I have 6 shipped silkie eggs in lockdown right now, praying for pips to start tomorrow. This is my very first experience with chickens, let alone incubating

I have another group that is due to hatch on the 21st when my family is all here for Christmas. Hopefully some Christmas babies!! I've been prepared for weeks...brooding "pen", coop all finished for Spring...ridiculously exciting! Now...how to call in for chick-ternity leave from work when they start zipping...hmmmm....
