They don't go into lockdown until Monday though. I started mine on the 15th

I put the eggs in lockdown early this morning. DH and I headed out to do some errands. When we got back at noon there were two pips! Then we had to leave again to attend two afternoon weddings. When we got home around 7 p.m., there were two more pips. We actually saw one little beak briefly. It's a day or so early - and the pips are very small so far. But maybe we'll have chicks tomorrow!

Wow! one of my RIR eggs from Meyer - the little beak we saw briefly - starting pipping & chirping up a storm - and within 30 minutes - here he is!

I'm in awe! My very first hatchling!

Seven fully hatched and running around the bator - four more pipped. Out of 26 eggs, I'm thrilled to have seven - or more already - and today is just day 20. I figure with the hot weather, they might've started developing before I put them in the incubator.

I just went on lock down today using two mini Brensea's loaned by a friend. I set seven lavender orpingtons six look good and 5 frizzle barnyard mix of polish, orps etc. 3 of those look good the eggs that I don't think are good all appear to be porous. No odor so will just leave them there for now. They are due tohatch on my Birthday! woo hoo!
