Will have to set 2 more batches of bantam cochin eggs next week when they arrive in the mail!! Hope to get at least a few.
YAY!

Set 12 blue orpington eggs, 2 dark cornish, 10 mixed (dark cornish on silvergrey dorking, buff orpington, and EE), and 6 black copper marans to hatch on March 12th. I'm using a 1588 on this hatch. *fingers crossed*

All of my silkie hens has gone broody at the same time. Looks like I'll be setting some thing too. lol Hope you have a great hatch.

I set 10 BBS Ameraucanas on the 11th and 14 BC Marans on the 17th.

We (me and my 6 y.o. daughter) set 40 eggs (19 Australorps, 12 RIR and 9 Anaconnas) on the 20th and 3 OEG Bantams on the 22nd all due to hatch on March 12th. This is probably the hardest waiting game I have ever played. We are so afraid the temp is going to get to high or low we are constantly checking it. I am really trying to go with the hands off approach but I think it is gonna kill me! My daughter is keeping track of the days better than I am she told me this morning that this is day 4 how many more days, I said no it is day 3, she said no I done day 3 yesterday Then I counted and realized she was right and I was wrong, 17 days to go!

Congrats and good luck to all!!

I too am worried about the temp. It wont stay at 99, but fluctuates between 9 and 100 (though it is most often 99)

We had to make a fast, unplanned trip to a childrens hosp (4 hrs away) Mon after leaving the docs office. Just got home tonight. Im not sure the eggs got turned 3 times a day since my oldest daughter was doing the egg care. [We found out my 9 yo daughter has type 1 diabetes....quite the shock to us].

Got home this evening to find a delivery of my 12 cochin egs and I think they may have gotten too cold. Nothing out of my 1st hatch exp seems to be going well. Thinking may be best to give up and try again later. And, if the silkie eggs survive me not being here, their hatch day is the day our follow up appt is scheduled at the hosp....<sigh>. And IF they hatch, I really wanted my kids to see.....

Anyway, good luck to everyone!!

Don't give up yet you would be surprised what eggs can go thru. The temps between 99 and100 are fine. I turn my eggs only 2 times a day and they do great. So set your eggs and give them time you should be fine.
