Set Jan 29, Hatch Feb 19/20 Join Me!

4 more pips! Maybe more, I can't tell because this fiesty little chick is knocking the eggs all over the place! I am so tempted to take him out- he's been out since 4am. How long can he stay in there? I've always taken mine out one by one as they hatch but I know I shouldn't and I am not going to... Just saying.

It is out. A Buff Orpington. No more PIPS, but this is the middle of day #20. Wonder why one was out so early, but I tell you, that was a first time pullet egg (small) and that chick is huge. It never ceases to amaze me how they fit inside such a small egg.

The PIP from last night - Lower right corner egg.

Edited to add: Note to newbie's you can not say there is a chick out without a picture..

Nice looking bird, nuts4chicks.

As of this posting, we have 14 new fuzzbutts and 5 more pipping......my wife said they are finally getting dried enough to be cute......

I will update later this afternoon.

Finally! I herd chirping and I see a minuscule hole in one of the Cochin eggs.

I thought I was going to be left completely behind! I guess I will be up all night.

I have 1 doze light Sussex eggs just waiting for their turn.

I have 1 zipped ameraucana/silkie mix egg and 1 pipped (same mix) but none of my 4 pure silkies seem to be hatching. Oh well. day 21 over here, and I'll wait for sunday before tossing out the eggs and getting some day-old delawares and silkies from my feed store. Is it normal for Momma hen to peck at the eggs that are pipped/zipped, because my hen is? Thanks!

I am in the early part of day 20 and not a thing! No chipring, no rocking, nothing! I am getting nervous, now. I thought I'd at least see them rocking around a bit more?

Congrats to those with chicks. They are all adorable! Love the pics and hope to see more.

Don't worry I am at a full 21 days and going into the 22nd and had the first chirping and tiny hole. It is just awful waiting

Just came home to 18 chicks and #19 is working hard on getting out.

Something very interesting about putting a carton in there. The first 16 eggs that hatched out were NOT in or on the lid of the carton. #17 was the first and so far the only egg sitting on styrofoam to hatch. I think the styrofoam is somehow insulating something from teh eggs. I have 11 sitting in or on the carton and no signs of pipping yet.
