Set Jan 29, Hatch Feb 19/20 Join Me!

So how long can I let the chicks in there? This is day 21 and if I have a bunch not hatching yet, how long can I wait before opening with the first chicks hatching on day 19?

Get all the dry babies out and mist the interior of the bator with warm water to bring up the humidity. You don't want them to get dehydrated.

Baby pics!

Ok, whew! Got the 22 chicks moved over to a make shift brooder for tonight. I have one more pip right now. I misted like you said and the humidity was at 75% within about a minute of closing it back up. The temp took about 5 minutes to recover. Thanks, Birdbrain.

Now here's some chicken nuggets in their temp home. These are fathered by a blue orpington and maybe a delaware, while the moms are EE, RIR, Buff orp, blue rock, barred rock, maran and delawares. So just a bunch of mutts but they have some peculiar markings. Guess which one is nicknamed "skunk" and "chipmunk"....

Love the pics fivestring! I now have a total of 5 out, 1 zipping and almost all the rest are pipped. I moved 3 out to the brooder... Didn't want to but it was really cramped and one has been in there since 4am. Got my humidity and temp up quickly so hopefully it won't effect the rest of the hatch. I will post pics after my camera battery charges back up.

Chick#2 has hatched - Barred Rock Female. Another Pip. Day #21 started at at 11:00 pm (1.5 hours ago). The Buff Orpington chick from this morning is dry and calling his friends to join him.

I now have a Cochin and a BC maran hatched nothing else even pipped.

I will take pictures after coffee. It is 5am and they woke me up at 3.30. Tried to lay back down but just no way.
