I'm getting a new bator for my birthday, and will start this thread again as a diary and review of the new bator once it arrives and I get it going. My fiance orderd me a Brinsea Octagon 20 ECO... so hopefully this will be better than the LG.

Sorry about the eggs. I know your frustration with LGs. Only 2/10 of mine made it to lockdown and now I am on day 21 and hoping I get at least one healthy chick. After two (almost three...) failed hatches I am looking to get a new bator too. I HATE my LG!

I got my new bator, Brinsea octogon 20 eco. So far this thing is amazing! Temps have stayed right where they should be 99.5 and the humidity has been staying right around 50%. I started the serama eggs in the LG just to get them going while I was waiting for the brinsea to ship so that I wouldn't lose anymore viability than I already had in the eggs (lost two because they were too old, never developed). In the mean time I had also ordered partridge silkie eggs off ebay. I candled the Serama eggs on day 7 and so far only 3 out of the twelve were quitters. While I was in there, I checked the 12 silkie eggs. 9 out of 12 were developing (at day 3). Not bad for shipped eggs considering my first hatch ever were silkie eggs, and only 2 out of 7 developed, 1 made it to hatch. I'm planning on firing up the LG again once I have to put the seramas into lock down so that I can keep the silkie eggs turning (4 days apart). Then when the silkies go into lock down, back into the Brinsea they go.
