Just out of curiousity, I set 6 eggs that were laid over three weeks prior. I rotated the carton most days, but forgot now and then especially once they hit the 10 day old mark.

I did not use any thermometer once the temp was set nor did I use a humidity gauge in my Brinsea Octogon 20. I was keeping it simple and letting it do what it does and not stressing over it since these were old eggs...oh, and one day our power went out, and I sent the bator over to my mother's, then brought it back the next day.

At any rate, I just had 5 out of 6 hatch...pretty crazy, huh?

Ya, no way...shipping is hard enough on fresh eggs. It just goes to show you, it doesn't hurt to try and there is no cut and dry way to do things.

What works for one, may not work for another. I know I was surprised when the old eggs were developing and out of the fresh eggs I had shipped, not one developed. Yep, scrambled in transit, I guess.
