Set on 2/4...who's with me?

I set some eggs on the second and some on the 3rd. I'm hatching blue, black, and splash orpingtons, bearded and non bearded silkies and some ducks. Hope you all have great luck with your hatches. I'm trying a new roo with my orpington girls. I was using a splash so I would get mostly blue chicks, but this time trying a blue roo to try and get some black chicks. Hope he does his job

I set 16 eggs in my bator on 2/4. I set 3 orp eggs and 13 polish eggs from various flocks we have here. The polish hens have only been with their roos for a couple weeks, so we are testing to see if they are fertile yet.

The orp eggs we have hatched a set already. No matter how many times I do this it is always exciting! And so hard to wait and leave the little eggs alone.

This is my third attempt. My first attempt my bator temps were too inconsistant and I got deformed chicks, had to cull all of them (worst first hatch experience ever). My second I got to day 16 and cooked them with a temp spike of 105. Needless to say I am stoked that my hen went broody. I think nature will do better than I, however I did put 14 back in the bator, I may end up moving eggs to mama when I know whats developing.

I set 42 eggs over the 3rd and 4th so I think I should be on the same hatch schedule as you guys. I am setting 42 eggs.. mainly mutts and a few barred rock. I've never set any eggs before. Something killed the last of my friend's hens and now his rooster is lonely. They suggest using inexpensive eggs for your first time so these are all my home mutts. Hope it works out and his rooster has some new girlfriends in a few weeks.
