Set our second hatch Saturday 5/12/12

So are any of the remaining ones rocking? So u have not candled since the temp dip? I wonder if the eggs that hatched were closer to the middle and more insulated? When did they hatch? Seems like something should be going on. Mayne u will wake to lots of pips. If not then maybe you should candle for movement tomorrow evening. That is a bunch of eggs that have done nothing though.

I have 2 pips!!!!! The last Americauna and a Salmon Faverolle!!!! Yippee!!! I'm still hoping!!! I'm not even sure how to do the math. I counted the set day as day 1 and I set at 7pm, so day 21 could techincally be tonight at 7pm too. Still most def learning!!!!! I didn't candle after the temps dropped, one I didn't see hardly any movement on day 13/14, if my dates are off and 2, I don't really even know what I'm looking at/for, lol.... Just trying to get an idea of what is going on in there. My fingers are still crossed and my hope is still high for at least a few of my SF and Dorkings!!!

I think it may of been a good thing I had to work today, lol...... I've been up like every 30 minutes looking in at them!!! I now have 1 LB and 1 Dorking pip too!!!! Sadly tho, I'm pretty sure the Ameraucana expired, no progress for like 2.5 hrs, but it is what it is, I've got to stay out of there. Time will tell.....

Bill your camera is crazy with action. I've got it running in the background and keep popping on to look, lol.....

OH no I lost camera feed .... I am having withdrawal symptoms!! It is terrible!!

Becky--I am not giving up on the Amer. It can take up to 24 hours at least for the chick to make it out. It is probably just taking a break!!

Had to rescue several shrink wraps. Had one quitter so we decided to help the rest.

and how does shrink wrap happen? Did your wrong end pip ever do anything? How many do you have now and how many eggs do you have left?

I took a break to do some barn chores and your chicks are popping open like popcorn, Bill.... I love the little one dancing right in front of the camera!!!!

I'm not giving up either on the Ameraucana, it has a good sized opening. I can see in, it looks like the membrane around the opening is drying up and the little bit of feathers are dry too and zero movement, but I agree it still could hatch!!!! I really need to get some sleep. I've got a long day at work tomorrow, I'll be gone from like 7am to 5pm, so I'm going to miss the whole show, the few that hatch were last night while I slept and this morning while I as at work and none all day today, lol....... They will hatch tonight while I sleep and tomorrow while I'm gone, brats...... I really don't care, just so long as they hatch!!!!

OK I feel like I am missing all kinds of hatching but I can't get the cameras to work anymore! I hope all is ok--one of the chicks looked like it was having trouble!

We ended up intervening to prevent loosing more. Sadly we had 6 more last day quitters. Good news is we "may" have saved 2 that hadn't pipped.

Shrink wrapping - I'm absolutly inexperienced, but the inner membrane starts to dry and shrink collapsing on the chick. Something went terribly wrong with humidity.
