She is doing great. But now I have another problem. I had a baby start hatching and I looked in while it is working its way out, and its yolk sack is HUGE! Anyone know what to do?????????!?! It seems lively but it shivers like its cold even though its about 100.0 in the bator

OK she isnt moving much any more, still breathing and shivering A LOT .. I am heart broken I dont know if she will make it.
She will open her eyes every once in awhile, and she has thrashed around a lot I guess trying to get the shell off.. all she has succeeded in doing is breaking off a little bit at a time

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO!

MommaBugg: I would not mess with it, maybe it will finish absorbing the yolk sac. I haven't had this happen so I'm not real sure maybe someone else may know better. But that's what I would do.

well her yolk sack ruptured, I wrapped her in a warm damp paper towel and then in an oven mit (I didnt have anything else handy) then set her back in the bator after washing it out. I have been giving her a little sugar water, and she seems very sleepy, but still peeping. So as long as I hear peeping were good. The umbilical cord looks like it may be shrinking back.. Lets hope!

The first baby is doing GREAT.. She is running around her brooder and eating and drinking on her own..

MammaBugg: i will be praying for your chick and you because i know how hard it is to have to hope for the best and keep checking on it and all. God bless!!!!

Well her umbilical area herniated. her intestines are popped out . I tried to put more neosporin on it and wrap her back up but she can wiggle out of every one of my contraptions. I am trying to give her a little water/sugar water every few hours.. I dunno what else to do. She is making it very difficult to help her. However she is very strong and dispite her injury tries really hard to stand.

I think it is out of my hands now, I have been praying that her hernia sucks back in, until then I am just trying to keep her as comfortable as I can.

MommaBugg: How is your baby?

My guineas are early, due friday but went to candle before lockdown and found 2 eggs have pips in them already. Hurried and put them back, jumped up humidity and see 4 more wobbling with no pips yet. Maybe I'll have some guineas by morning.
