Setting 3doz eggs tomorrow 8/11!!! Hatching buddies???

Hi from Ga. I should have chimed in earlier I set 30 Cochin Bantam eggs on 8/11 and 9 turkey eggs on 8/9 waiting anxiously.

wava1vaughn--I have turkeys too. What breed or mix to you have??? I love my 3 week olds, already getting out of the brooder. Put them in a deeper box.

Bad news:

The seabright eggs I bought from a lady on craigslist didnt develop...not a d*** one!

Last time I buy eggs from her or anyone on craigslist. This pi**es me off!

Well, I slipped a light in my incubator last night and candled a handful of eggs. 5 of them look promising and I could see a lot of movement in 3 of them!! Granted, 5 of 24 isn't the best result, but these eggs were shipped really roughly. At this point if I have at least two hatch on my first try incubating, I'll be thrilled! I was so exciting to be able to see all the movement and a lot more veining! Today is day 13!

gmandoza--not a one developed??? Sorry! Traveling will shake them up terribly sometimes.

Jfulcher--with all the hours you're working, think of all the chicken feed you can buy! I do! Back to substituting for me, school starts Tuesday next week. Love the kids and it helps pay the bills.

No doubt! I already have a 50lbs bag of food atm, so I am set for now, but I am sooooo excited to see if anything hatches monday!!!
