yes. i took him to the vet for euthanasia. his legs didn't work and he kept flopping on his side. this am he was breathing hard so i know it was the thing to do. at least i didn't have to do it. i just held him. it was sad but at least we have 2 babies to keep each other company. i still have 4 eggs that are doing nothing. i think that temp spike really did a number on them. i'm really surprised i even had 3 hatch.
mj, that is a GORGEOUS bird. i would love it if it looked like that. is that a girl or boy?

Oh very much a boy.

Well, I raised the humidity way up, then snatched it out of the bator. I have my Ameraucanas in there too. They probably won't even start pipping until tonight or tomorrow because they are just the opposite of these Nankins..they are large! Will post pictures when my Nankins are dry and cute, but for now..here's my first.

Congrats to everyone who has chicks out already! They are so cute! Snazzy, sorry about the one you had to euthanize. It's always hard to lose an animal.

I have 2 BLRW pipped, and I can hear cheeping(this time for real! LOL). Hopefully these guys will get moving! I am getting over 2 dozen Lavender Orps from a local chicken breeder Sunday to set next!

Can't wait to see more of everyone's chicks!
