I candled the eggs while in "Lock Down". This may be a no-no, but i figure my broody hen leaves the nest once a day while in this period so no problem. While incubating I am unsure of the ill effects, but can only assume that it may take an incubator longer to bounce back from an exposure than a hen.I'm curious...I keep seeing ppl who know they have chicks piping internally (into the air sac) well HOW do u know???? I have 12 eggs in lockdown ..how will I know?????
You candle them to see it. When they've internally pipped youll see them moving where the aircell wasI'm curious...I keep seeing ppl who know they have chicks piping internally (into the air sac) well HOW do u know???? I have 12 eggs in lockdown ..how will I know?????
Congrats on the 3 chicks so far they are adorable. I hope the other 3 hatch for you soon. Is it normal though for your broody to be off the eggs so much? I have yet to have a broody so I dont know how they work.
