Forgot...hey that ova-view candler is great for lighting upthe incubator. Makes it MUCH easier to read the thermometer and humidity gauge, and to tell how the water level's doing!
I was so excited and scared but it all went well, now I am hooked
This was my very first time hatching and I was not sure what to expect so when the chick came out with the cord stuck to the egg
I started to panic, but luckily after a few moments the cord came detached on its own
What a noisy little bugger, I guess I am her new best friend
Not sure how to post the picture yet so I set the picture as my avatar
I am so jealous. I have had 4 ready to hatch and only one made it. It hatched and died within 4 hours. So sad. I have more that are supposed to hatch this week. Staggared hatches through Sunday!
I WOKE UP TO 5 PIPS! One is quite big, the others are barely there but my eagle eyes found them! Still hearing lots of peeping from in there but when I woke up this AM, my humidy had dropped approx. 10% so I had a miny panic attack!
Congrats Lorrie77!
Sorry to hear about that shanshan51, sure hope you get one this week!
LadyBirdsPalace - Thanks, I was so excited and nervous, I hope that lessens after the first hatch
My humidity took a 7 degree drop during the hatching process and I was so unsure if I should open
the incubator to add water. I decided it was best not too and everything turned out just fine as I
am sure it will be for you too
keep us posted and hopefully you will have some cute pictures to share soon
I found out it was my humidity. I was going too high at first so then they ran out of room and drowned. The last chick made it the furthest. Hoping the "Dryer method" will work this time. I pulled the plugs and humidity has been much lower this time around. Crossing fingers.
I couldn't wait so I went and bought some chicks. It has made it less stressful lol.

I put a sponge under my air hole on a little plasic lid so that if my humidy falls I can syringe some in there without opening the incubator, so I added a little to even it out. I see beak! She's trying! The other 4 are still just cracks in the shell...
Yup, want to see those pics Rachel'sFlock and you better post your babes there shanshan51, we need to see your babes too, we'll play pretend! What kind did you buy and how many?
