Setting Eggs 12/27 Anyone else?

Then, last fall, I decided to try something small for the fun of it..just the opposite..I hatched out Button Quail. Tiny! When they said they were as tiny as a bumble bee when just hatched, they weren't kidding! Pretty cute, but I love how the turkeys were as babies best of all. Too funny and cute noises. They were up and around the next day just fine after a day of trying to keep those full bellies right side up. Then the way they wobbled around!

If you do turkeys..have to see those pics!

I put some eggs in my incubator 5 days ago... I just hope they hatch... I think they will hatch on the 20 or something like that.

ok my oldest son and I couldn't wait any longer.... soooooo we candled 30 some of the eggs and there was only 2 questionable eggs. I set them on the 28th!!!

I sure hope they all hatch.. i think I am going to keep the oliver eggers and maybe a few of the others...these are hatching for my cousin..

what does everyone use to candle their eggs? I had a cool light for candling but the darn thing grew legs and disappeared

just wondered what you all used for the best candling. I have aled light that I "found" for now. It does the job ok....

well off to work. been off since the 22nd of december...I sure hope Ican remember how to get to work!!!

its going to be hard I will miss everyone from BYC and of course the boys since my Joshua doesnt have school today.... we got about 7 inches of the SNOW lastnight... kinda late for Christmas though... alright I hope everyone has a blessed day!!!!

Today was our second day back. It is so hectic getting back into the school routine with the kids. My youngest forgot her homework as school and I had to take her back up there to pick it up. This is really irritating since I drive a school bus and my route ends right next door to her school building. She didn't remember her work until I got all the way home.

She did this a few times the beginning of the year, too. Things will smooth out in a few days.

On the plus side, my eggs are developing nicely!

We got two more turkey eggs today so I put all 6 in. I am guessing since they are the hens first eggs ever they may not be fertile, although I did see one of the toms tap dancing so

. I am still hoping!


I am going to try and hold out on candling for a few more days!
