Setting eggs 3/15/14 - Who is with me?

Thanks CoopDeDoo, my hens are much calmer than I am. My neighbor kids are clamoring for chicks! This has been my experiment set, all my birds currently free range all day. So the set eggs are rare/ heritage breed mixed mutts, once I know I can do this I will start separating out breeding pairs and getting a bit more serious. In the mean time, I hope to have chicks for the neighbors and maybe some dark egg layer mutts to help occupy the roos and give the hens a break! I'm not hearing anything under the girls but it sure seems like it should be happening.

Really bad photos but here are a few - still have several drying off in the incubator. I hope to get them out tonight after work and the larger ecoglow 50 is on overnight order

ain't gonna cut it with this hatch.

There are a dozen under there currently - all Favs and JGs. I think I have one splash and one blue JG and also one splash Fav. There is at least one SPR in the brooder, one or two JGs and at least three AMs - it may be impossible to count your chickens before they hatch but after they hatch is not that easy either :)

Congratulations everyone and good luck to all those still hatch! I can see at least 3 eggs still unhatched in my incubator as well.
COOP.. That is SO true after they hatch is just as hard .if theyd just stand still!!

Im on lockdown day 20 due tomorrow Everything calm and went well for 2 weeks almost until i had to take these out because of another hatch in the Genesis. Then the bator they were in went crazy wild temps for a week 122 to 94. so now back to hatch in the Gen and I have no idea what to expect......... but im not holding my breath on this one.

I just bought the Brinsea brooder and hope to put it to good use for my 10 chicks. I tried feather sexing them today but all the feathers looked exactly alike. Everyone is asleep right now.

Got our first attempt, first ever, broody hatched chick today! I am sooooo happy & blessed! A Persian rumples egg hatched out under Goody Broody, what I have a hunch is a female rumples chick, already named Alia because it's my granddaughter Alia's birthday. There are so many things that went right after so much went, well you know, human.

Were your eggs shipped coopdedo? What an impressive hatch! So far I only have my four little guys out of the 31 shipped eggs, they are such little sweeties though, much more friendly than ones that came in a box. Going to set another batch of wheaten americanas and buff laced brahmas the week of the 14th, hope I get some decent numbers there :) . After that I think I'm going to set some of my own eggs, I have a trio of buff brahmas that I'll separate this weekend and then just some crosses. Will be interesting to see the difference from my eggs to shipped eggs!
