Setting eggs 3/15/14 - Who is with me?

Were your eggs shipped coopdedo? What an impressive hatch! So far I only have my four little guys out of the 31 shipped eggs, they are such little sweeties though, much more friendly than ones that came in a box. Going to set another batch of wheaten americanas and buff laced brahmas the week of the 14th, hope I get some decent numbers there

. After that I think I'm going to set some of my own eggs, I have a trio of buff brahmas that I'll separate this weekend and then just some crosses. Will be interesting to see the difference from my eggs to shipped eggs!
24 shipped eggs ( 15 from one source and 9 from another). 2 of 15 and 5 of 9 (7 total) shipped eggs hatched. The interesting thing was all my shipped eggs hatched very late (1) on day 21, the rest on day 22 and overnight into day 23.

24 local eggs ( sort of - drove hours round-trip to pick them up) 12 from each source. 15 local eggs hatched (9 & 6). I am pleased since this was the first time I did it. All of the local eggs hatched on day 21.

Did any more of yours hatch Levi?

Coop de doo.....Sounds like you had a handful. Congrats on your hatches, you too LeviS. Any more? I am still so new to this, but my second rumpy chick hatched today. No other mixed batch (heritage breed mutts) have made it yet, but two rumples eggs have. These are all under a brooder, a forced experimental batch, fun but challenging to say the least ( three broodies going, another made her plans known emphatically today.) I love chickens, such a world. The two chicks ate from my hand today along with Momma, the second broody keeps trying to steal the chicks, and the chicks don't mind!!!!! Keeping me very involved and delighted. I am beside myself in awe of it all. After so much attention to eggs put under the broodies, my Persian rumples Opal ( it was her two eggs that have hatched under the broody) went absolutely, no doubt, do touch her, or get close, broody today with two eggs. Nature always overpowers us.
Wishing a very good night to all.

Just my four hatched, cracked open the remaining ones and They were somewhat premature, just stopped developing I guess. The other three were fully developed, but weren't alive nor appeared to have pipped. I think they were malpositioned ? I didn't really think of looking at their position till they were out, but seems like they were facing away from the air sac, on at least one of them.

Going to set another two dozen next week, both are from different sources so crossing fingers. I really really want to get some wheaten americanas established and just any type of brahma, I love them all. Slowly going to morph my flock into brahmas and wheaten americanas.

Going to run the humidity at 35% this round and adjust accordingly, seems like they lost to much weight to fast. Also going to make sure my four legged helpers don't leave the lid partially open overnight, which couldn't have helped at all.

Kitties or tail waggers? I wish you the best. I am really hoping to wake up to at least two more chicks under Goody Broody. She still has eight eggs. Baddy Broody ( got to get her a real name) has twelve eggs due over the next week. Keeps trying to steal Goody's hatches. Two rumpys so far, very heathy, strong, and rambunctious so far. I am in awe.

Out of 18 shipped eggs, 6 made it to lockdown and 3 hatched. 2 brahma chicks and 1 white campbell duckling. Setting another 40 eggs this weekend. Mixture of white orpingtons, lemon pyle brahma, blue brahma and white campbell ducks. Anyone else setting again?

Kitties, my one kitty excessively rubs on things. Thinking that's what done it.
