Another lavender hatched!!!!

Awesome! Cute chicks.
I have 4 now. 4 of the eggs haven't done anything yet. I think I'll give them one more day before taking the chicks out.

I woke to 3 more lavenders .....so far I've had 8 of my 10 lavenders hatch and my 2 little mutts hatch. Ive still got 5 in the incubator not doing too much but I'm really happy with the results so far.

They're hard to photograph in the incubator... Super cute though!

I moved my 4 chicks to the brooder, and one of my eggs that was "doing nothing" has pipped.
I want to give the eggs in there a couple more days, so I tried to move the chicks quickly, only barely opening the incubator to fish them out, and added a little more moisture to the sponge. Hopefully that will work out.

The little yellow chick was the first, and he is such a bully to the other chicks. It's pretty funny. These are supposedly Jersey Giants from a local flock.

3 more hatched for me tonight (day 23)...1 welsummer and 2 black Orpingtons . 2 eggs left but I'm thrilled that 13 hatched.

We ended up with 5! 4 are going to their new homes tomorrow, the yellow one is staying with me. I candled the 3 that didn't pip and there was no movement and looked like they stopped growing around lockdown.
