Setting eggs 6/11 and 7/4 - Join me!

I hear peeping!

wooo! Go go chickies!

I put another peafowl egg and 3 turkey eggs into the bator, and as long as I was in there snuck a peek at the others- but it's only been a couple days, so I didn't see anything yet

I put the quail eggs into a container so the chicks can't get out when they hatch, added water, and found a good spot to sit on my hands for the next 3 days.

I'm still very quietly following along this thread and cheering y'all on :) Last we checked we still had a few over 30 eggs that were developing right along. This styrofoam incubator has given me a few panic attacks with temps shooting way up, but I'm crossing my fingers we caught it before it caused to much damage. When I started this project, my girls (teenagers) were looking at me like I had lost my mind, but I'm pleased to report they are just as invested in these little eggs as I am now.

Not to much longer to wait here...
Happy Hatching y'all!

I am having issues with my styrofoam incubator too. Temps are fluctuating between 95-104. Think I am going to make a home made bator for next year.

The three due to hatch on the 4th are looking good. I just got a shipment of eggs, and should get another tomorrow. I don't have a hatcher, so we'll have to divide off and temporarily raise the humidity some. I'll probably put a humidifier in this room, since we have circulated air in the incubator, making raising humidity a pain in the rump.

The three due to hatch are silkies and a possible showgirl from Cjexotics. The shipment today was heavy on d'uccles, some cochins (maybe frizzles), a couple rapanui, and some barnyard mixes of OED, Japanese, and the other listed breeds. The shipment I'm expecting tomorrow should also be heavy on d'uccles, and will have some serama, silkie, cochin/frizzles, and seabrights.

On a bright note, the post office actually called me to come pick up the eggs! Yay! The man at the counter was pretty cute. He said they had a shipment of chicks today, too, so they put the chicks and eggs next to each other. They figured the chicks could talk to the babies in the eggs. Then he carded me and said "Can't just send babies off with anyone." :)

Good to hear people are still hanging out. Went into lockdown here myself this morning before work. Rented a PO box here, the letter size was $47 for 6 months and if i turn it in before 3 months i get half that back, so not bad really- not when it means ENSURING the package stays there rather than getting carted around on a hot mail truck. Maybe I will have to order some other eggs- no ahhh I can't think like that! XD I am terrible when the incubator is already on....

Good luck for those hearing peeps and locking down now! I am very excited to see pics!
