from what I have read in many places, I am not opening the bator during lockdown, not even to save my own life. (although, bleeding chick in fan would definitely make me do it.) I think in the last three days there is no such thing as too much humidity. Just get lots of water and sponges, and papertowels in there to get that humidity up over 75%, and keep it that way. I don't think misting them will help against shrink wrapping. I am pretty sure that happens as soon as you lift the lid. Too big of a risk for me. The hatched chicks can stay in the bator for up to 72 hours without food or water. That's how long mine are staying in there come heck or high water. lol
