I candled last night and see at least 11 that have good veining the bigger chicken eggs arent showing much but am going to wait for day 7 before deciding to trash them I think I have 7 white polish 2 backyard chicken eggs and 2 houdan eggs in the mix so far but it was only day three so time will tell I am constant at 100 degrees and 48-50 humidity would like to know if this isgood for the dry hatch method?

i dont monitor humidity at all, i put water in the tray of my lg at the very beginning and every 4 or 5 days or so. i don't worry about humidity at all until i go in to lockdown then i still don't monitor the humidity. i just jack it up and go for the best.

Just did our first candling ever... I saw some blood vessels but only 2 out of 25 appeared to have movement. Although the Marans eggs I'm not feeling very confident in this, due to the fact I could barely see through the shell anyways..Hoping our 12 hour power outage and movement of the incubator did not kill the eggs.. Going to check again in a week and hope for the best..

Well I candled and think there are 16 eggs that are viable. New to this so maybe not but I am seeing blood vessels and movement in the lighter colored shells cant really see much other thanthe blob in the darker ones.My polish eggs are the easiest to see the others are a guessing game but Im just using a mini mag light in a totally dark room so the ones I can see are definites dont know what I should do about the others. Have stayed very stable at 100 degrees and 45 to 50 humidity. Hope that is right

Wait until day 16 or lockdown (day 18). You should see a blob that takes up the whole egg. It will be mostly clear with only a small blob (the yolk) if it's not fertile. The rest is perfect! =] good luck!
