Setting eggs, anyone want to join me? Hatch-Along

So now I have one that has an external pip but not much peeping or anything. Not sure how long ago it did it. And the one that has pipped internally is still peeping and making noise but no external pip yet. Should I make a tiny hole for it or just try and wait it out. It's very loud when it peeps.

Well I just checked them again and there is movement in the egg. So hopefully we have some hatch soon. They are due today but I hear nothing. If these 4 don't make it I give up!! I've been trying to hatch for 2 months and never had one make it. I was close once but he sufficated in the shell before he could pip externally, so everyone wish me luck cause I need it haha. :/

Good luck!! I've had some do that too. Thats why I'm having a hrad time waiting on these ones now. I know some are moving and some have internally pipped so it's making me nuts!! Lets hope that we both get some hatched!

That was a MAJOR spike! Hopefully since it wasn't for very long they'll be ok!!!!

During the summer I have no problems with hatching. This is the first time I've tried hatching during the winter and keeping the humidity up is not easy. I've got some that are still moving in their little shells, I just wish they would come out and play. The one that is making the most noise is the smallest egg.

Still no external pip, but I still hear peeping so we are good. I did a quick candle and it looks like a few more are trying to pip internally. We will see. I have already started collecting eggs to start over this weekend. Hopefully whoever is coming out to play will be out by then.

I have one lone egg that is taking it's sweet time....this egg is WAY bigger than the others so I guess baby had to grow longer...I candled it last night and it was moving and still had red veins. So...I am just gonna have to wait. All the rest are in the brooder and doing great. They hatched between 5pm Sat - 4am Sunday.

You should wait until the pipped egg hatches before doing anything with the other. It can take 8-12 hours after internal pipping for the chick to pip externally. The pipped egg should hatch is 8-24.

After the pipped egg has hatched and if it hasn't made any progress you can make a tiny hole near the edge of the air cell with a safety pin and leave it.

The more you take them out and check them the longer it's going to take for them to hatch. I expect they'll be late because you keep taking them out to candle them, which causes a drop in temp. I candled mine a lot my first time and they hatched on days 22 and 23. Just let them finish and hold on tight

Haha I know I just wanted to make sure the temp spike didn't fry them. But they are moving and all so I'm going to let them sit until friday if I have too!! ( That'll be day 25)
