Setting eggs, anyone want to join me? Hatch-Along

DURR, did you have any low temp issues? I did, and I figure that's why mine have started hatching a day late. I have one pipped and my other 2 eggs have just started to peep. Then I have 3 more that are a day behind (never going to stagger hatches again, its just a pain). I had 2 really cold nights where I let the house get too cool and it delayed them until today. If your temp was off for longer, that's probably why they're late.
I don't think I'm going to do anymore hatching in my incubator until the weather is a little more consistent. Its just too much of a hassle with my cheapo bator. I've got a hen sitting on eggs now, and these babies hatching at some point over the next few days then I'm done until it warms up...unless I get more broodies. They definitely do a better job than me :/

My first one that hatched seems to fall to the right. :( I've been giving it some polyvitasol and got some other stuff for it. It seems a little better. But I had one pip last night and came home to another baby! I've Ben checking my eggs and realize that what's left should be hatching between yesterday right through Sunday. Too many different hatch times to keep track! Next batch is just one batch if eggs. But with the humidity problem I had it looks like I will have to buy more if the eggs I wanted. Oh well. Now I know how to fix it at least.

Here's the newest baby :)

Can anyone help me with figuring out how to use a Lyons hygrometer ? It's the type that has two little bulb thermometers ....mounted on what looks like about 2' long x 1" wide white plastic "cardboard." I need to install it ASAP on / in my Little Giant incubator... the styrofoam type, as i am picking up my hatching eggs in about 3 hours ! HELP !! Thanks.

@ NIKKI - currently my incubator doesn't have a thermostat to he'll regulate the temp, I do have a hygrometer and thermometer combo though. My humidity was fine through out the hatch for more of a dry hatch type deal, and the temp without having the thermastat would reach lows of up to 86 except when my bulb died out yesterday morning. But other then my husband freezing us inside and no thermastat in the bator I have had no problems. So yea my temps were a little low in the beginning.

AND on the other had the last 24 day egg is going crazy!! Its kicking and rocking and all that don't hear no chirping yet but when I talk to it, it goes nuts!! So it's name will be Peep. :D

And sorry to say monkeywoman I have no earthly idea on how to install it. :/

@ TAMMACLEAN - cute babies!!!! Can I have one haha. :p

Monkeywoman1953- sorry, I don't know how to install it either. But I did want to say that I use the same LG bator (still air) and I don't even use a hygrometer. I just keep the reservoirs filled and monitor the air cells to make sure they're where they're supposed to be. I'm pretty sure there's a chart somewhere on here that shows how the air cells should progress. A simple search should get it for you. Good luck!

DURR- I hope you get something. If its still rocking, that's a good sign! Maybe it'll pip for you tonight and you'll have a chicky tomorrow :fl

Thank you Nikki!! And I do too. I talked my hubby into getting a new incubator when we get our taxes, which we are going to file them this coming up tuesday and do the direct deposit so we get our taxes back faster!! :D
