Setting eggs, anyone want to join me? Hatch-Along

Wait, how do you know it hasn't pipped internally? Are you still candling? If so, DON'T OPEN THE BATOR, you'll dry them out by letting out the humidity. Just leave them be and let them work (if that's the case, and you're locked down).

Oh, and I created a Highlight called "Morpheus Hatches" under the Videos tab for anyone who wanted to watch him hatch.

Sometimes you have to click the little slider thing to make it show up, but other than that it's been working.

I candled them this morning cause it's day 22 just wanted to make sure that they didn't die in shell on me but the little guy was pushing on the membrane this morning when I did it, and I figured he hasn't yet because I don't hear any peeps coming from the bator. And I have to open the bator to re wet some rags I have hanging down to keep the humidity up. Just hope he starts soon! I want me a baby!!

My first batch is going into lock down tonight. I'm a little concerned because I cant get the humidity up. I have a homemade incubator and never had this problem before. I'm thinking it's the dry winter air so I have a humidifier next to it. Right now we are at about 48. The water bowl is full and I had another bowl in there but it didn't seem to help. Any ideas??

I wouldn't open the bator unless absolutely necessary. Can you pipe some water to the rags with a syringe? If your temps were a little low, that could be why they haven't made it to pip yet. When I'm adding extra humidity during lockdown, I put a bowl in with a sponge and set it under one the many vent holes on the top of my bator. If the sponge starts to look dry, I use a syringe to squirt some water down the hole onto the sponge. Just some ideas for next time. Good luck, I hope you have peepers in the morning!
