So how are the hatches going, folks? Things seem kind of quiet. I hope things are going well with everybody's hatches.

Well, my hatch is a little better than I was afraid it would be. I have six chicks hatched, and two more are nearly done zipping. I have five eggs I am still unsure about. I will check them again after these last two finish hatching.

From the shipped eggs this is the only one that hatch and with help. My first real ameraucana.

Well after the bad storm we got them back in and all is well. I have to help out 4 for the got shrink wrapped. We have a total of 6 so far. Looks like two quiet and there is still one that is piped, Might have to help it too. out of 60 eggs that is not to good. 1 out of every 10!

Mabhera, it sure is a cute one! I am sorry you ended up with only one. Shipped eggs are so frustrating.

Womanacat, Those are really disappointing numbers.

This isn't a great start for that Ag Econ project....I can only imagine how frustrated your son must be.

I float tested the last five eggs and one or two still appeared to be alive, so l left them all in the incubator a bit longer. I am not holding out much hope for those though. But on a happier note I have eight little cuties. One may be black, one blue, two splash, three mottled and one blue mottled.

The mottled chick coloring is so cute! My daughter's favorite is the blue mottled.

Day 21 for me is only this evening, I had 2 hatched after supper yesterday plus 1 I helped out. This morning I had 8 chicks hatched with 4 to go. I will move them to a brooder this afternoon and take a pick when they are dry to post here. This is a much better result then expected as it was only my second try and I had failed miserably at the first try.
