Hi Sam I normally do but they have all gone broody at the moment. Only thing i have for sale right now is frizzle pekin bantam eggs and rir's.

A question for you this time Sam, My quails are 7 weeks on monday i think. (could be 8 i have lost track of time). No eggs yet but i can hear calling coming from one of the pens nearly all day. I have three pens one with dark japs, one with stripey japs and one with white. I can stand at the pen for agers but i never seem to see who is doing the calling. I guess the one calling is the male?

A riddle? I am new to quail so I really have no idea. I can hear the calling all day and then as i approach the pen to look it stops. No matter how long i stand there it stops til i go back in side lol. Maybe the do it to stop the stalker lady coming to the pens all the time looking for her very first quail egg.

i hear one of my males do the same thing, about 5am in the morning. sounds like a male, try maybe checking the vent area, i went to my parents house the other day and was trying to figure out while none of the quails bonk each other, like the 2 males i have at home keep doing there thing. also wonder why none of my parents eggs would hatch, noticed all 4 where females. i checked the vent area of my males and its swollen and red, but the females are like a bluey colour, you should still get eggs if there are no males, they wont be fertile.

im still trying to work out the sex of my 4-5week old quails, i can hear some calling out, but cant find them when it happens, i need to wait 2 more weeks, also some i can tell by the colour of the front chest area.

maybe if you think one is a male, put him in a cage by himself and see if he calls out. put him where he can see the females but cant get to them,

i had one male try get out of cage, when i put my hand to get eggs the other night, cause he could see a female by herself having some rest as she has lost some feather from her head. he was so determined to get to her, funny thing is he is already with 4 females.

Exciting news. Got my first quail eggs today. Just one so far but at least now i know i don't have 19 boys lol

hey satay congrats on your 1st egg, and many more to come along!

my son sold the 5 week old jap quails on saturday, sold all 38 of them, he was happy about that,

the 2nd batch of 70 we will keep about 35 of them, hopefully keep 30 females and 5-6 males,
