Setting eggs in incubator May 3rd...Anyone with me?

I candled all remaining 19 eggs last night and pretty sure 6 are infertile but other 13 are looking great! can't believe how much you can see, it's amazing! Time seems to be moving so slowly, having to keep busy to stop egg watching. So nice to expect our first chicks on spring bank holiday weekend and the kids will be home all week for the holidays. Anticipating lots of visitors to see the peeps. When do you all take the infertile ones out? I'm sure they're doing nothing but keep leaving it a bit longer to be really sure. Going to leave the black maran uncertain one till the end as I really can't see enough, although it looks too light. Good luck Jordi15 for the weekend.

I have 12 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 3 + 1 small Black Copper Marans, 1+ 1 small Basques, 2 Olive Eggers, and 3 Lavendar Orps! A couple of them are quite smallish. I hope to have 20 out of 30 hatch. We'll see! I am getting excited! How big should the air sac be now? I have used dry incubation, and low humidity, and I plan to increase it for the lockdown, so I need to know ifI am on the right path.

Hey guys, guess what? We'll have chicks next week!!! Lockdown for me starts Monday. I'll be candling with a better flashlight to toss any bad ones so that I will be able to see what is going on before then. I also need to take the straw out of the broody pen and replace it with shavings and get my girls area set up for chicks just in case she's done everything right and she has chicks. If not I'll give her a few of the ones that hatch if they hatch. First time with a broody. She's been vigilant on keeping those eggs warm. I'm hoping i didn't make her crack any when I picked her up yesterday to count them when i realized I'd left the door open. :( I've been to afraid to look. I should probably do that before her lockdown begins though... which is Tuesday.

I've been a little out of touch this week...it's been crazy around here. Anyway, I have not candled all the eggs but most of the eggs I did candle look great. I had three that look clear but I left them for now. I will take them out when they go into lockdown. Time has been going so slow. I am glad we are getting close!

Best wishes to all for a good hatch!

This weather has wreaked havoc on the temp and humidity in my LG incy. I hope I have a good hatch. Lockdown starts tomorrow. They got to 103 one day last week while I was at work, but i dont know for how long. I will be heartbroken if they all died. :(

I did my first attempt at candling on Saturday, but only did two of the five eggs as momma hen wasn't happy w/ me messing w/ them. Both were all dark inside, so I'm hoping that we have chicks this weekend or maybe next Monday (seems that momma brooded eggs hatch later than incubator ones)

3 chicks so far!!! I am going to name them Captain, Pilot, and Chief
Fingers crosses that i get a fourth cuz I want to name him Skipper
