Adorable!! i locked my 8 eggies today, 10 were infertile just yolk

Look what greeted me when I went downstairs to check on my other babies! I actually got to watch and record this one hatch. First one that I've ever actually witnessed in person!! So neat!
The funny thing is that this one didn't even have a pip when I took the other babies out-- not even 3 hours ago! I have one other pipped egg in there so far, and a couple that are rocking.
This one has dark, dark legs, and pink feet. I'm in love.

4 pips, so far. I do hear some peeping going on. I can't wait! I am hoping that they wait until morning to hatch so my daughter can watch, afterall, they are HER chicks.

oops correction....my humidity is at 55 not 65, so I still have some tweaking to do!

My incubator looks like a hot mess....just to keep the humidity up. Tough to keep constant. I am hoping the that one egg in the Little Giant Hatches soon, that one has kept me guessing.

Well I just figured out how to increase the humidity really quickly and drastically...a spray bottle. I'm glad I didn't do that during lock down.

I think that might have drowned my chicks. The humidity went up to 80% in minutes, and the windows clouded over. I only sprayed two quick squirts of warm water. I have now opened the incubator to let some of the vapor out. My goodness. This project requires constant attention! I can't believe how quickly the temp will spike either. In a matter of minutes, my thermometer has gone from 100-102.5.

I now have 4 chicks and 2 zipping. The two that are zipping are PolishX so I'm super excited. One of the babies still in the bator is silver and oh so pretty!
