Setting eggs Memorial Day Weekend! :) They're hatching!!!

I've only seen golden cuckoo marans once that's when i got the eggs lol. the ameraucanas eggs are wheaten and blue wheaten. got my bator running 99 at night and 101 in the day. if it stays like that I'm going to put the eggs in at about 5:30. i don't have a hydrometer I'm going too keep the water full humidity is high in south east TX any way.

well i got a temp spike to 102 but I'm going to set the eggs any way right now. i have been trying to regulate that bator temp for 2 days now that's as good as its going to get. hope the temp don't spike when i put the eggs in?

I just sat 228 various varieties of ameraucana eggs. Alot of them were over two weeks old, so I don't expect to hatch more than 150. I may be having an auction after I candle in ten days.

AJ I hope your temp stays stable! Do you have your bator in a fairly draft free place? I always had the best luck with temp stability when mine was in a room that had no drafts and wasn't entered much.

And of course, YAY for more hatch buddies!

Yes, I have a seperate room in my "clean area" for my incubator and hatcher; it has a very stable temperature.

Sorry Pips! The second part of my last post was for Aj1. He said he was having trouble with temp spikes.

Day 2 complete!

Chole is still sitting pretty. I made her get up this evening. She spent her 10 mins off nest fluffing out and drinking lots of water. I looked around the coop, and still haven't found any broody poo

I think she's hiding it on me. I checked her crop and it was fine, and she acted normally.

Who knows?

Now I have to make a confession. This evening I went over to close up the coop a bit later than normal. So I bought my flashlight with me. While Chole was off the nest I quickly checked the eggs, and I'm pretty sure I saw development! I had a hard time seeing through the 3 blue/green eggs. But in the BR egg and Chole's lil egg I saw almost exactly what's shown on the 52hr development pic here , which is almost exactly the time frame we're at. I really thought there was no chance that Chole's egg would be fertile. She'd been seperated from the roo's for almost 2 weeks!

I hope it keeps growing!

I hope everyone else is doing well

ETA: Ok I've been looking through posts about broody poop. I found that some broody's don't go but once every 4-5days! Phew! Here's the link for those interested.
