This is a cool thread...

Lisa---10 dozen...well I am not setting that many only about 6 dozen or so...I am putting a bunch of older eggs--not sure that they will hatch in with some that I have just ordered and gotten in a couple of swaps and then the stuff from the coops today----but all of these go into the NEW incubator....I got a Dicky (like a sportsman) off of Craiglist, it is all set up and ready for me to add eggs today, I just need to diside where it is going to live.

I still have the other three little ones going...in the next few days they will have the eggs moved into the new one....and then they will get supper cleaned and hopefully put away.....

Yaay Gretchen! Dickeys are made just an hour or so from here. How do the Am's look so far?

What about the broody pile? How's that going?

Those 13 silly Frizz girls are doing good with the eggs piled on the coop floor.
There about 9 doz that should be hatching 25th and 26th --- last candling they were looking good.
It's gonna be a wild couple of days. I don't think I've ever had this many hatching at a time.

Two of your grandchildren hatched out their chicks - one had 4 and the other one ended up with only one. So the one with a single chick decided to ditch it with the other mama and then just stole some more eggs to sit on. I will definately be reccomending you if someone questions where they can get some good broody chickens!

Hi! That sounds just like them --- I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, though.
They are great layers til they decide to brood, then that's it.
The only bad thing is they are kind of peckish to each other and some of the girls are bald-headed now.

Yep - almost all my frizzles are fairly bald- headed except the main mama. One is bald, headed, back, shoulders and tail. I think she just went broody to get away from the rooster. I've tried the apron thing and it just freaks her out.

The Am's are looking great....they are the next to be transferred to the new incubator....

I ended up putting in 60 yesterday, I still have some more to put in. I have orders for most of the ones that are going in. I am having so much fun.
