Setting eggs on FEB 10

Off topic but I can't get over my 3 year singing along with the Gilmore Girls theme song.

Now what I was about to say is that the early pipper will probably be just fine. The others will likely be right behind.

Ah thanks for that, I really hope so.

The other day I was helping out with grade schoolers and they started signing Rihanna's S&M... I almost died!

Interestingly, I've never heard the Gilmore Girls theme song...

I have one egg pipped so far. Has your pipper hatched?

Nope, and I'm getting worried for it, since the membrane's getting yellowed. Humidity is at 63% so it should be okay, but it's been about 24hrs since it pipped. Might try to help it out this evening.

One more blue egg and one banty have pipped in the last few hours

Just come home from taking my Nan to a dr's appt and we have 2 pippers! One is clear through and I see it resting, the others working through it. This is farther than I've ever gotten lol! Humidity is 63% so I'm just going to let it chill out til it decides to come.

1 pip 1 chick! Popped right out no problems! I had 1 plug in and 1 out which is how I best got my humidity to stabilize, but now that this little lemon cuckoo orp is out its raising and causing some condensation. Should I remove the other plug to increase ventilation and prevent too high humidity?

2 chicks! They're playing hockey w/ the other eggs, will they hurt them?

This is so exciting!! I'm glad you're getting little babies this time around. Mine are knocking the eggs around too--I just try to make sure the top of the air cells stay up, but with the wire bottom they usually do okay unpsidedown. I just worry lol.

Some rolling won't hurt them. It might encourage them to hatch. I have a bad feeling. Still no other pips. That temp spike might make wrecked more then I thought. Thankfully most of my eggs are in the other bator.

I'm glad that most of your eggs were in the bator that didn't spike, starting to get weird with no other pips.

So I helped the first one that pipped out of its shell. First time was this afternoon around the 24hr mark, I got some shell out of the way for it, but hit a vein and got blood and had to wrap in a warm paper towel and put it back in the bator. The second time was a few hours later, I came back and peeled more shell for it and made sure it could breathe through the membrane. Then put it back in the bator again. I came back and I had 3 babies out of their shells! Including the one I had helped along. Two LF (from blue eggs) and a bantam (I was really excited because it has feathered feet, and then remembered that its two possible moms are a cochin and a d'uccle, ha!). Another LF has pipped. One of the chicks is making a racket! They are super cute.
