Setting Eggs On March 7, anyone else??

I know how you feel. This is my third hatch this year but for some reason it is the most exciting one.

Gratz on the two pips Contrastphoto! Still nothing here. I'm going to have to leave the house and go somewhere in order to keep from looking at those eggs every 20 minutes. haha! This being my first hatch in 2 years, it's as exciting to me as the first time. haha! This is terrible!!!

ashenhouse: Not completely sure on dry hatch or regular hatch yet. Last year was my 1st time hatching and I hatched different eggs. I know I lost 8/31 shipped call ducks (which they say are hard to hatch) alot died in lockdown, 2/7 chickens from my sister in law (2 died in lockdown others not fertile or quitters), 3/4 shipped cochins (one died right before lockdown and had a deformed beak when I looked at it), and I think 8/20 shipped guineas (alot of infertile, few quitters), with that being said I am confused myself.
So we will see how the dry hatch rate goes for my own eggs. I just wish I could find the calico, laced and mottled, buff columbian bantam cochins locally but I haven't had any luck. :(

As for how long for rocking I'm not sure but maybe someone will know.
I know what you mean, I can't ever seem to find what I am looking for locally either. I am sure there are people out there but they don't subscribe to any of the forums. I found a guy, by accident, in my small town who raises LF Cochins and Malaysian Seramas. Prior to finding him the only place to purchase these were from the feed store as hatchery stock. He raises these birds as a hobby, and doesn't subscribe to any forums. He sells extra stock at a local farmer's market.

Still no pips here in Missouri.

I would feel so much better if I could see just one little pip. You might think that I'm a bit odd, but I wet two tampons with warm water and put them in there to raise the humidity in there so that I wouldn't have to move any eggs around in order to get to the water reservoir. Haha!

I went to the store and came home to find my first blue Icbar and more pips... Why does it alway happen when you go away... none the less I am excited! (sorry the photo is so bad, but I just wanted to share.)

That is so exciting! Maybe going to the store would be a good idea for me too. Just got off the phone with my husband and he promised me that if I go in there and just talk to them that there will be pipping before dark. haha! Not sure where he comes up with this stuff. I'm so excited for your new baby!
