Well we have had 5 hatch. One knocked out a nickel size hole in the shell around 2:30pm and had its beak sticking out. When I got home at 5pm it was not moving anymore. When I pulled the first five out, I pulled the 6th out to see if it was still alive, but it was too late. I opened it up the rest of the way, it looked fully developed but had a yellowish black sack looking thing stuck to its butt about the size of a small grape. Is that the yolk or something that is not suppose to be there? 2 of the remaining 4 have pips, but one pipped last nite and one this morning, so I am guessing they have had the same fate as the 6th egg. I will leave the final four in for a couple more days. 5 out of 12 for my first hatch is not bad for my first time! Congrats to everyone else who has had some new additions today and good luck to those who will be hatching in the next few days.

It happens to me every hatch-first time it was wit 15 + chicks out of a huge hatch.. Thats heartbreaking no matter howmanner it happens to..You just try and learn from it and get excited for the next baby to hatch..
