I'm really thinking My one chick left is not going to hatch. Saw movement yesterday, nothing since. I'm thinking the worst

Tomorrows day 22.

On the other hand I just set 20 more of my eggs. I made an incubator.I rigged one up before when I didnt have one and hatched chicks, so why not try it again lol. I AM going to have some fuzzy butts around here one way or another!

how long after day 21 do you wait? I mean today is day 20 and i have one pip (yay!) but there are 13 more that dont have any signs

I hope its just a late hatcher lol. My kids just got home and first thing they do is run to the bator lol. They are going to be so sad if we dont get any babies. They are really looking forward to the hatch.

Well day 20 and nothing is going on here. I had one shaking all around the day I went into lock down and nothing since that day. Trying not to worry and obsess until tomorrow! UGH.

How many live chicks are present and accounted for? 20

17 shipped EEs ... 2 clear .. 3 never pipped nor hatched .. 12 live babies .. a little better than 70%

12 local Marans .. 1 never pipped nor hatched .. 11 hatched .. 3 needed help .. 3 have died .. one is crippled.
8 alive .. counted the crippled one that I think we're going to put down.. 58-66%

The shipped eggs did better than the local ones!

I incubated in a brand new LG still air with turner .. I probably incubated a little warm .. between 101 and 102 ... A couple of short spikes and drops 96 .. 105

Ok, So I lied earlier! I AM obsessing. I cant help it. The suspense is killing me. So while I was hovering over the bator with nose pressed to window I heard a PEEP!!! and then a few minutes later while DD and I were obsessing together (family bonding) we saw a crack!!!!! So things are under way here on day 20. So exciting and such a relief!
