Ha ha ha!!!! Ya know - when you're in the swing of things ......... LOL ...... Plus the Marans and some more olive eggers I want to get from Donna -

Ohhhhh I just saw this message - LOL!! Go ahead and set those eggs, you don't want to wait for mine and compromise those eggs. If you have a 2nd bator I'll send the eggs on Monday to be with you probably by Wednesday mmmmmmmh hope we can work it out, coz that's sooooooo cool that we're on the opposite sides of the Country.
Ohhhhhhh and my little EasterReds (Production Red/Easter Egger) have just started laying a kind of Olivey egg - soooooo cool and both of my Easter Eggers are laying like troupers so you could get some good layers out of it -

Guess that will be a good excuse for me to get a 2nd incubator!

I had 7 of 8 backyard mixes to hatch out yesterday !!!! I have 16 Olive Eggers that will go to lockdown on Oct 1., and 24 RIR that are on day 7 set Sept 22. I plan on setting 24 California Whites on the 5th of October. After that I promise that I am finished for the year

FYI - you all make me laugh.

I have a question - it's 12:30am right now where I live. How often am I supposed to be turning these eggs in regard to time lapse?

Thus far I have been turning them at random (sort of) times during the day and through the night. Due to medical reasons, I'm supposed to be getting 10 hours of sleep...I'm getting about 4 because I am fussing over these eggs.

The times are random, but they vary only by about 30 minutes to an hour behind or ahead...so basically the same time.

8am - turn eggs (I do this before I even go to the bathroom, lol)
Noon - turn eggs
4pm - turn eggs
9pm - turn eggs
Midnight to 2am (it varies)- turn eggs
then I try and sleep for a while and I usually only last about 4 hours, and I wake up thinking the temp is messed up and they're frying to death, or the temp is too cold and they're freezing.

4am - I'm awake yet again and turning eggs
8am - up for the day, rinse and repeat

When do y'all have time to sleep?

and PS -something still stinks in that bator! lol

Turn the a minimum of 2-3 turns per day. You can turn more if you like and it is ok if the time is random, just as long as you turn the minimum. I use an automatic turner so they are constantly turning all day and night.
