Day 14 here, candeled this morning 34 good eggs, 1 iffy egg and 1 quiter removed, four days until lockdown, will candle again and see where things are at then. Those realy dark welsummer eggs sure are hard to see into. Good luck everyone !

WOW! Amazing! I hope my luck stays that good! And oh how I'd love me some Welsummer eggs... maybe next hatch? I mean next year of course.... hehehehe

Thank you thank you! they are all mutts, i haven't separated my breeds out at all yet. To be honest I'm glad i didn't. The mutts are just too cute

How's our backyard bunch doing?

I haven't candled those yet, was planning on doing at day 7. Oh heck, I am getting old

I put it on the calendar next to the incubator...i'll check and let you know what day that is

Do you know if Marans are that difficult to hatch? I set 12 local Marans egg on my last hatch and only 3 hatched (1 died.) Second candling at Day 14 I threw out 7 of the eggs. Most of those never started and the ones(2) that did were very early quitters.

This is my first maran hatch and they were shipped eggs. I wish I knew.
