Chicken math at it's best! Come Thursday I will have 80 eggs incubating. I already have 16 chickens so I am looking at majoring in Chicken Calculus.
SorryWell I have some not so great news.... Having twin boys has come back to bite me in the butt yet again. Every single last egg that was in the bator, smashed or chilled dead. 10/3&10/10 sets both trashed

Maybe plug up one of the holes. Are the chicks wet or is it dried crude? There is a difference. I would leave them in there and still open up and add a sponge or wet paper towel quickly.I have two chicks bouncing around the incubator. They still look wet or at least not at all fluffy (it's been about 12 hours since hatch). The humidity is dropping and I have two eggs with pips. I really want to take these chicks out and add a sponge or something. I keep trying to add water with a straw but I can't seem to bump up the humidity.
Any suggestions?????
Least i saved the birds before they cooked in the bator. oh yeah i forgot that part... they packed birds in the bator and slammed the lid shut to let em cook. Kids and bird room getting new locks on doors today. enough of this crap. not like i cant make up the ground i lost. I know i can even if it means running some dang heat lamps for a while. the annoyance of 40 birds i needed to stock our freezer gone i think is whats enraging me the most.
Ahhh I'm sorry to hear about that all. Eggs and chicks. But at least the chickies are okay!!! It could have been worse! My daughter smashed about 30 of my Gouldian eggs when she was little. I thought she was taking a nap but was actually faking it and snuck into their room. I was so upset... more crying and mad at myself, but she started crying because I was..... anyway it was a mess. We all were a mess lol. But she did at least learn from it and nothing ever happened again! Hopefully it can be a lesson for them so at least something good can come from it.
