Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

I tried no turning for 7 days on my first batch of shipped eggs - none hatched

I didn't do that for Picanins eggs (because they went in the same incubator which was already turning) and I have what looks like good eggs in lock down.
and I am having luck with doing that. The ones that made it to lockdown this time were 15/24. That is the best number yet for me. Funny how both our cross country eggs are doing great!!!

Brook Of chickens but found out a few years ago that if you have a toothache antibiotics will cure it Not supposed to do it but i save back one pill here or there so i have maybe 3-4 to take before ican get to the dentist.Works perfectly no pain after you take 1 or 2 pills.
You know with Mastiffs how many they take so my vet just calls them into KV vet supply for me and I get the huge pharmaceutical bottles.

Hi Roxannemc :) The ones in the 1st pic are yellow, the wing feathers are white and black. The ones in the second picture are caramel, the wing feathers are white and black. I have 3 x 7 week old chicks in the coop that are white :)

Day 20. tossed one of the 3 this morning. Candled it and it was sloshing. Other two i cant see movement but the air cells were still intact, and they didnt appear to be sloshing around either. I cracked the sloshing egg, development had for sure stopped and it was decomposing into a slurry. gross i know.

Brookhavens...anything yet?

Well just got home and I can hear chicks under my broody in the garage...but I don't dare move her as I killed a chick on Sunday by dropping the stupid egg....but they are chirping away....yay

Oh and when I got out of my car my neighbor came over and politely asked me how long I was going to keep 'that' rooster for....dang!

I do live in the city though and everyone has been very understanding and patient...I told them I would move him on...I didnt tell him that I actually had four Roos...

I did an eggtopsy today. Looks like out of the 6 that went into lockdown, 2 didn't even develop (couldn't see because of the dark eggs), 3 started, but quit along the way (just big black blobs) and one was developed. I wonder if I took out too early (was 23 days) or if the new incubator just didn't get enough humidity and it died inside the eggs. Local eggs...local eggs...no more shipped eggs! Let's see how long that lasts lol
