Yup, hubby (Sportsterjeep) and I were there. We actually came in Saturday night and stayed. I spent most of the day with Gretchen and Bob, while Jeremy slept off his hangover in the car!

One egg pipped and then didn't wobble, rock, produce tapping sounds or any peeping for nearly 48 hours. I thought it was dead, but it hatched yesterday morning!!!

And then this morning two more hatched! 3 little bantam cochins, OH so tiny - and I'm at work now! I can hardly wait to go home and take those 3 out of the 'bator and put 'em in the brooder. I was happy with the singleton but I figger 3 out of 7 is great!

If any more hatch, that will be SUCH a bonus!

So how are all the babies??
Things you would do different?
Hatching again?

My 2 chicks are doing well, trying to convince them they are both ladies in waiting.
Things Ill do different, get eggs locally vs shipping, shipping the eggs seems to not work to well for me.
Hatching again? Why yes I have

72 eggs in 2 bators... 60 local eggs 12 shipped. due the 27th

I cant wait for NY CS

Well, all our eggs are hatched! We didn't have a great hatch numbers-wise, but since the vast majority of our eggs were from local $2-a-dozen farmers who happened to have roosters hanging around, I didn't expect high fertility from them. With the "special eggs," we got some nice olive-eggers, and a few special ones that I will definitely keep!

- A gray cochin that I'm pretty sure is a frizzle
- A gray Turken/Silkie cross with black skin, not sure if it's silkie-feathered, and hatched from a green egg
- A good looking black true Ameraucana from a sky blue egg
- Two picture-perfect bearded Silkies
- A blue Marans

So yay! Congrats on the new babies, everyone!
