Setting eggs today 5-3-12...anyone with me?

Set a barnyard mix of Brown/light brown/blue/green and a couple white... think they add up to 13 today. (it's my birthday so I had to do something to celebrate.... Ha)

Go get em folks... grow babies grow grow grow!!!

Just had a complete failure with my first eggs ever... need a boost, ya know?

Oh yes, the more the merrier. I can't wait to see what everyone has.

Worldgirl: I saw in another thread about setting shipped eggs... I only waited 18 hrs this time on my shipped eggs. How long did you decide to wait?

I ended up waiting till I could be home after I set them - it was 30 hours since I unpacked them. Thanks!

Can't wait to candle next week!

I set my first shipped eggs yesterday (the 4th), but they're banties so they should hatch around the same time yours hatch :)

I started on the morning of May 3 and I candled six of mine and all showed embryos. :) I will candle them all on the seventh day.

How dark are they? Mine are a medium brown and I can see pretty well, the white ones are for sure easier. Really dark ones like Marans eggs might need a super high powered candler. I just use an LED flashlight.

Actually these are on the lighter side of brown for maran eggs. Is there a website that tells me what I'm looking for when I candle them here at the first week ?
