Setting eggs today 5-3-12...anyone with me?

So as of 7am this morning, I have 2 in the brooder, three still fluffing up in the 'bator and 7 with pips. That leaves 5 that have not pipped or I can't see that they have pipped. One thing is for sure, hatching in the Brinsea is close quarters that is for sure. We just ordered the bigger 40 one. I believe I will be incubating in the smaller one and hatching in the bigger one.

My neighbor is excited. She is hoping for some yellow and or yellowish white ones. So far they have all been mostly black....to are black with yellow highlights. ;)
As I have said before, they are mixes from her flock, so who knows what is what. :)

It is 8 10 here right now and I have no more pips. I am begining to get worried. Today is day 21 but I set them at 6pm so hope that is it. Don't know why 2 would hatch so early and the rest go late.
Here are the two that have hatched.

I have one pipped and one zipping. And can finally hear chirping.

This is where things went wrong last time. They pipped, zipped and passed away in their shell. Their yolks were absorbed.

I am maintaining 65 -70 humidity on 3 hygrometers.

I am right there with you Mbeily... i didn't set until late also. Figured (hoping) because the force air cause different temps in different areas of the incubator, they are just going to be slower.

awe..they are cute, mbleily! I don't know why they would be so far apart either...other than it could just be they are slow. I have six now with pips on others, but not all of them. None are zipping right now though.

There seems to be about a 2 hour difference with mine...and I think you might be on to something with location. I have several in my middle row that have not pipped, and only one has hatched from that row. The ones that have hatched all seem to be doing great though.

Don't give up just yet, I have read where it can take up to day 23 sometimes.

OMG...the first one is out

and knocking every other egg in there around. The other that pipped is rocking a lot now.

Hard to believe he actually fit in the egg.

Aww cute babies. Do your best to not open while you have pips they can dry out and stick inside there shells and not be able to hatch aslo make shure the vents are open the babies need O2 . I cant wait to see more fuzzies

The ones of mine that hatched were one in the back and one in front of the heat area. I don't know why I didn't put them in cartons cut down and with holes in them. I cut the bottom off the cups and cut the side down some but it holds them up and keeps the chicks from using the other eggs as foot balls.

I hope you have a better time of it this time with your hatch.

Is that cat in your avitar really that big??? It looks huge there. LOL I wish I had put the eggs in cartons so they chicks can't move the eggs around but I wasn't thinking again.
