I know NYRIR, lol, but I have always had pips by now with my barnyard mixes that I have incubated, this is throwing me off....My other eggs are doing good, temp has been steady and I do dry incubations so I don't worry about the humidity...

I will keep my fingers crossed for you...maybe they are just sleeping in and have decided they don't want to hatch for a few more days.

did a look today and only a few loom good. Same stuff as last time. But when i check the eggs we.eat they all mostly look fertile. Feeling frustrated with it. Really didnt want another.batch of just a couple chicks. Grrr

ams4776.....so sorry to hear....is your egg fertility low? Or is it that your temp is off maybe and not warm enough to start growth? Just trying to think what it could be,sounds like you are getting clear eggs?

It be weird if they werent fertile. Almost all my eggs we eat are fertile. Temps are 99 steady when u get em in. Unless there is a drop i dont see. I dunno but i am doing a 30% humidity first 18 days maybe i should bump it?

I don't know but if you are getting consistently bad hatch rates I would change something....see how that works and if it doesn't...change the next thing and see and so on. I always have my humidity at 50-55%for chicken eggs and get decent hatch rates. Ducks just require a higher Rh I think.
IMO 30% is too low...but then you have people hatching with the dry method? It's so confusing! I think climate, elevation etc. play a role ya know?

I was thinking to up my humidity too. But ill be done hatching this season now. Now just trying to see if i can find local cheap chicks to grab. Unfortunately everyone is to far for my dh to approve the drive. All well if im lucky to get at least one hen ill be good.

who knows its early still so ill see what happens on day 10. Ohh my first harch had a bad temp spike early so that could've been a problem that time
