Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Can I join in? I set my eggs the afternoon of the 12th. Just 3. I have a chick-bator right now. Just doing it for fun and with my boys. Our eggs were given to us by my husband's uncle. He raises a variety of laying hens and sells their eggs. He gave us these for free because he could not guarentee they were fertile. Turns out he has some happy roosters and all 3 are fertile! I am so excited. I am really hopeful they all make it and hatch. I'm not sure how to post pictures but I have one from today that shows the embryo pretty well. They are all very active when I candled them. This is our first set and probably our last for a long time.



Ok, I figured out the picture adding. This is a little edited to show the embryo better. I am keeping my son's kindergarten class updated so I needed it to show well.

Welcome! At first this was just something fun and interesting to do with my girls but it has VERY quickly become an obsession for me! Good luck with your 3!

Have you started talking to your eggs yet, lol...I have, I want them to recognize my voice when they hatch!

Sometimes I talk to my eggs. "I will name you squishy, and my squishy you shall be" or "KEEP GROWING!!!" and sometimes "bawwwwwwwk brawwwk brrawwwk bok bok bok."

I've named mine. LOL! Wynken, Blynken, and Nod. I am sure their names will change once they are hatched, but as of right now that is what I call them.

I named some baby guppie fish,Blondie and Gimpy. suprisingly I can tell them apart!(well actually only three) and I'm about to name my call ducks here. they haven't hatched yet...they're like 5 days old... lol I'll probably name them along the lines of Heartbeat, Eye, Squishy, Veins, Dancer, Peeper...

I'm still going to leave them in there... just in case I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain they're not going to make it. Zero veining and just not looking like anything is happening at all. If nothing happens by this time next week, I'm going to toss them and start over. I tried to take pics, but my camera wouldn't cooperate. Basically they look like Missnu01's did.

Crack one open and see what it looks like, if it's cooked you'll know for sure the others are too.

Hubby and I started constructing a top to a 35 gallon Sterlyte container for my brooder. The container is clear so I can watch the chicks from a distant when I'm not playing with them and loving on them

The top won't fit perfectly on there (Hubby didn't listen to what I wanted him to do, but he did his best) so I will prolly have to put a brick or two on it so the cats can't flip the lid off...I'll post pictures when it's done. Now I just gotta convince him to build my incubator sooner rather than later!
