Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

I'm so happy for you guys. I've got a very large amount of hatch envy. My guinea eggs are arriving this week.

Thank you.

I have been a nervous wreck the last couple days, I thought for sure I would get an early hatch, but no, they are stubborn and want to wait til the last minute...I am glued to the incubator!

That one chick is chirping like mad! I hope that means he's getting the energy to start working on that shell...I'm kind of worried about the exposed membrane.

As long as your humidity is up, it will be ok! I had one that pipped for over a day and would roll that egg all over. He didnt come out ill 24 hrs later.

My humidity won't go above 65% unless I mist the eggs. The are also in cartons. I have no more room to put anything on the floor of the bator...I already have a full jar with a sponge, 2 mayo car lids with sponges, a wet washcloth and a doubled up wet paper towel...

I can tell the exposed membrane is starting to dry out...it's starting to change color from the bright white that it was, to a very faint tan...

Don't open the lid. I had a few that didn't look like they were doing anything and came back and hour later and they were fully zipped and then out! Some have taken much longer, like over night, I didn't think they were going to do much either but awoke to 7 fuzzy butts in there this morning! it will happen. 65% isn't too low.

I had a few that looked like they were drying out. I dabbed a drop of water on them with my finger when I had to open the bator to take chicks out. I don't know if it helped. 2 didn't come out till more than 6 hours later, so I doubt it. One was zipped half way around and it didn't help him - he was still in the same spot this morning (12 houirs later). My wife helped him out after I went to work and she said he was shrink wrapped but running around now. If they don't have a large hole opened up, I think I'd wait it out.

Here is the pip at two different times, the first pic is about 1 hour after pip and I had misted the eggs...

The 2nd and 3rd is about 4 hours later...no change except the membrane starting to dry out...

The picture isn't all that accurate, the membrane is turning slightly tannish and the little bit of blood at the crack in the membrane is dry...
