Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Lockdown for my new batch of eggs is on the 9th...so 8 days possibly til hatch...It's taking so long...especially when you guys already have your chicks hatching. We would have been on schedule, if only my first set eggs had actually been fertile...sucks.
A least these are fertile! I think I have 18 or 19 still going...can't remember if it was 5 or 6 lost early on...3 were infertile and 2 or 3 had blood rings. I would have to count to be sure...anyway I'm pretty excited. Everything in the remaining eggs looks good including the fact that I can actually now see them moving about. It's pretty neat. My daughter is missing it though. She is my candling buddy, and the only person that seems as interested in the process as I am, but she's with her dad for spring break. She'll be back this weekend though so she won't miss them hatching...or she might if it happens while she is at school. Either way I'm sure she'll be happy to see the chicks...at least she gets to skip some of the waiting...

Good Luck!!!!!! We will stick with you!

My hatch is complete. I had 11 out of 12 that went into lockdown hatch. I am so excited. The last little chick that hatched must have had a hard time. His egg was knocked around alot. I didn't even know he pipped because it had been kicked over. He is a little weaker than the others. I hope he makes it.

I took a picture with my cell phone but it isn't good. I will post another picture later but here is my group

What a great looking bunch! I have 7 yellows, all shades and 3 dark ones. Mine are a mixed up bunch

Mine are doing well. I re-homed 4 of them today. All are healthy, a few poppy bum's but nothing major. I found my hatchery chicks were much worse with the poopy bum problem.
I did some feather sexing and my white cochin cross chicks seem to all be hens so I am rather pleased as those were purchased eggs :)

I haven't a clue how to feather sex my chicks. I would have loved to find out what they are, but even with instruction, I don't think my untrained eye will tell the difference. I have one chick reserved to join another flock. The other 8, not yet. If I don't sell them by the end of next week they will go back to the lady I got the eggs from and she will rehome them.

Well all 18 chicks are doing great today still. I figured that even though they all hatched I might start seeing some issues today....but nope, everyone is doing great. I need to write a letter to the guy I got these eggs from! A-Mazing!
