Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Ok. I have a question. All of my eggs have lost 2 grams, except 2 of the smaller eggs, and they only lost 1 gram...what am I looking for in terms of weight loss? I have never done this before, and I just want to know if it is working. So in 3 days I've lost 2 grams from most eggs...What does that mean.
My temp is 100 and doesn't waver a bit...but I don't know what my humidity is. I still haven't gotten a hygrometer. I did add a tiny bit of water when I first set the eggs. Haven't added any since though. But they are losing weight, so I guess that is good. But is it too much? Oh the wondering?!

This I am not sure about either. I was going to weigh my eggs, but forgot when I set them, so I am using the candle method to keep a very close eye on air cell and development. Hopefully someone can provide an answer about the weight.

I figured I will candle around the 10th day or so...Since I have never done it I want to make sure that I give it enough time to show something before I even look. I will weigh them every few days though. On one egg it started at 72, and now weighs 70. If my math is right then it has lost 2% of it's total weight in 3 days...How much weight are they supposed to lose?

Jnjmanning -- that story about your older hen almost brought tears to my eyes. And I am not a crier! I am glad you had her for as long as you did. I don't have any one special hen, but would love to.

I have a hen named Cheeky. She will come running to me when I come outside, usually wanting a snack. She will jump right up in my lap and nuzzle my arm. And makes this cute singy sound when I bring snacks. She is by far the friendliest hen ever. I am hatching 3 of her eggs. I hope they take after her. The others will all eat out of my hands. But Cheeky will walk right in the house if you leave the door open.....lol Cheeky is a cross EE and Buff Orpinton. She has all the EE characteristics except she is solid buff coolred and she lays green(olive) eggs. I hatched her last year in June, I set 12 eggs and hatched 11.

She sounds like such a sweet bird. Hearing stories like this makes me very sad that I don't get to keep any of my chicks

Well this makes no sense cause I have water in mine and it is registering 35%, but with that said, we have wood heat, so I would assume we have very dry air. Raising it is what is going to be hard.

I added water twice, not a lot either time though, the first time maybe a little more than a table spoon, the second time I added a little more, like 3 table spoons, and neither time did my humidy get back above 25%...
