Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Bought an LED flashlight, but accidentally got a black light. Brought all three white eggs inside to candle, and dropped one. It's a good thing broodies don't know how to count

That sucks x2! Bring the light back! Did the one that you dropped survive the fall? If not did it crack open enough to do an eggtopsy?

I am so worried about dropping one of my eggs. I only have 3 so losing one would really be rough for me. My 6 year old want to help turn them so bad. I let him hold one while I turn the other two and then turn his and put it back. He feels like he is helping so I am happy. But it makes me SUPER nervous the whole time he is holding it. Not really him, but I worry one of his little brothers will rogue tackle him or something.

I havent taken mine out again since confirming all 10 fertile and moving. Sooooooooooooooo sorry you dropped and egg

All 3 of my Polish are fertile and moving, and those 3 were the ones I was most worried about.

So tonight I'm going candle again and then crack open a few that appear infertile/dead and see what I can see...I'm still hoping that I'll see something when I candle...I mean, it's day 10, so if I can't see anything now, chances are they were either infertile or that heat spike took them out right?

Right.

Can you describe the difference you see when candling?

it's hard to explain but with the still air eggs I notice the embryo on the side of the egg usually, lots of great veining and the air sac at an angle near the top.

With the auto turned eggs I can see veining up near the top, near the air sac, but also there seems to be a clear area near the pointed egg of most of the eggs...like the embryo is somehow suspended in the middle and hasn't filled that area yet...?
