Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Way to go everybody!

I think we're done. My wife helped the one welsummer out that zipped and then dried - I can't tell it apart from the others. And she also culled one welsummer that was out but weak and dragging its left leg behind. We had 6 no shows(4 easter eggers and 2 welsummers), left one in the bator just incase and will eggtopsy tomorrow. So 22 out of 29. Pretty happy with our first try. I need to put the sand in the other part of the brooder to dry out, then tune in to Blzzrd's chick cam and go to bed. I still need to take pics, something to do tomorrow

Don't stay up too late!

nice numbers :) I'm jealous of your Welsummers. That's what I am hoping to hatch eventually, after I get into some lavender Orpingtons.

Had one more silkie egg hatch out. Looked like it wasn't doing anything, then I came back to check it and empty shell...where is the chick ..hiding in the corner LOL 2 more in there, no pips.

I had one hatch over night, a D'Uccle

I have one zipping now...

Zip # Is stick in his hole and I will zip for him later this morning..

And I have 4 other pips.

I only have 10 total and still just one pipped. I got up almost every hour through the night, now up for good at 4:30am ugggghhhhh LOL
I have to take my 3 grandchildren home today. It's a 3 hr drive, so I will be gone awhile. I am hoping one gets out before they have to leave. I wont see them again for 2 weeks. The one pipping is my Buff Orpington RIR cross.

I wish I had stayed up last night...one of my cats got on the bator and started scratching on it...the bator is borrowed from the local co-op extension...hearing the chicks are driving them crazy :(

I have 2 zipping this minute...

I'd love to see what your Ameraucana looks like. Most of mine have grey chipmunk stripes and one is all yellow. Wish I new how to post pics. I don't see the "add image' button anywhere

Jenifern :
We really like our Welsummers. They're on our breeds to keep list. Not lap chickens, but when you pick them up they just sit there. Our rooster is really good with us and his ladies so far. Only 10 months old. The first one we got in a trio at an auction and he was nasty. The neighbors cat got him before my clever did. We just have hatchery stock, but now that we know we can hatch chicks, we're looking to upgrade to some good breeder quality. And the eggs are really interesting. Some dark, some light with nice speckles - always changing a little bit.

ha ha, Thanks, sounds easy enough but I don't see any smileys. Can't even get into "edit account details". Must be the outdated browser here at work...or could be my lack of skills. I'll have to wait till I get home
