setting eggs tonight!! anyone else?

It's a fungal infection. Most things I'm reading say either he will die, or get better. And there isn't really anything I can do. -_- Oh, and the other's will probably get it. great.
I think we got it because it's been raining, warm, and humid around here. Perfect conditions for growing fungus. I'm not happy.

It's been raining here too, but it isn't humid. One thing I notice is that the chickens are eating earthworms and that worries me because they carry parasites.

I hope my girls don't get anything. Today I cleaned out their coop and put some fresh wood shavings down. For my hens, I might pick up some more electrolyte/vitamins to add to their water. That can at least strengthen their immune system. I also put garlic in their morning breakfast and apple cider vinegar in their water.

I guess just try to keep the chick extra healthy and clean. Are your babies outside already? Mine will be in the house for another 2 weeks at least. Hope he gets better and nobody else catches anything.

It's ALWAYS humid here. -_-

They are inside. I think I'm going to change their bedding. I'm also going to add some antifungals to their diet.

I have to ask: What antifugals can you feed chickens?

I'm glad that your laws are not prohibitive of your hatching business sometimes the rules and red tape just kill you.

Right now I'm just using whatever antifungals I can find around the house. Things like garlic and Vitamin C. Also immune boosters. Probiotics and vitamins. Better safe than sorry.
He's doing a little better this morning. Last night he was peeping with every breath. Well, with every gasp. (he wasn't making a gasping sound, he just looks like he's gasping.) He couldn't get comfortable. He'd lay down and start to fall asleep, then he'd get all startled and run around and peep louder. He was all floppy and sad looking. He also isn't growing. He's tiny. He's not much smaller than the others, just a lot lighter and not developing. His wing feathers haven't grown, he hasn't gotten tail feathers. It's like he hasn't grown since day 3 or so. He laid all night next to the waterer and drank. Hopefully the water will help him.

2 years ago one of my roosters had a fungus on one of his toes and it swelled up and was red. I was keep their coop very clean but they're outside most of the day. I went to the feed store and bought blue kote and sprayed that on it everynight while he was roosting. Cleared it right up. Good luck!

Also, if it's intestinal related you can put some "food-grade" DE in their feed. That's what I use in their coop. It's even safe for humans to eat but make sure it says "food-grade". It will make them sick if it's not.

We have it. I am probably gonna put some in for good measure. I put it in with my first hatch. I just forgot with these guys. (sorry, guys.)

His in an internal fungus. It does something to their liver if it gets too bad. Everywhere I'm reading says there isn't a cure or even a real treatment. Either they get over it and live, or they don't. :(
